Video Games

It just never gets old does it?

I didn’t actually get to play a lot of video games growing up. My first console was a Gameboy which I got when I was 9 or 10 (still got it and it still works!). I had a friend who lived down the street from me who had an NES where I played some Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Blades of Steel, Double Dribble and such. Though admittedly I had TERRIBLE coordination and usually dragged my friend down during simultaneous play games.

I loved going to arcades as a kid playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games, Final Fight, and especially the X-Men arcade game. Though I never played any of the games to completion because I always wanted to play other games too. My mom it turns out is really good at skeeball and usually by the time we left she’d have tons and tons of skeeball tickets.

Growing up we always had Apple computers which means I didn’t play too many games, but there were a few other than Carmen Sandiego games that I played on our Mac Plus. First game in a more advanced computer was Myst.

In high school I got a Playstation, but I didn’t have many games that I remember except Final Fantasy VII and Soul Blade. In college I discovered emulators and played lots of catch up with SNES games. Now I have a PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and a Wii, but not a lot of time to play them.

I like most genres of games, but I don’t follow too many franchises other than Final Fantasy and the Nintendo franchise games.
